Wide-Angle Zooms - Choose Carefully.......

Wide Angle Zooms - Some points when choosing........

Wide-angle lenses are essential landscape photography tools for their ability to take in epic vistas and allow you to move in close to emphasize a foreground object while still showing enough of its surroundings to give a feel for the location.
Wide-angle zooms offer a number of advantages.
1. They provide an entire range of focal lengths in a single, convenient package. A 16-35mm zoom not only gives you 16mm and 35mm, but every focal length in between, including the popular 18mm, 21mm, 24mm and 28mm.
2. A second wide-angle zoom benefit is instant access to any of these focal lengths. Just twist the zoom ring, and you can crop the scene as you wish—much quicker than removing one lens, attaching another, and seeing if that meets your needs.
3. With DSLRs, equally important is that zooms minimize lens changes in the field, which, in turn, minimize dust spots on your image sensor.
To choose the best wide-angle zoom for you and your photography, there are some key factors to keep in mind.

Canon 5D Mark III - Results started to coming in....

Canon EOS 5D Mark III preview  - Gordon Laing

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is the successor to the enormously popular EOS 5D Mark II, and builds on the success of this full-frame DSLR. When the original EOS 5D was launched in October 2005, it represented the first 'affordable' full-frame DSLR. Three and a half years later, the Mark II almost doubled the resolution from 12 to 21 Megapixels and became the first DSLR to really embrace the potential of video recording, a feature which saw it adopted by most independent film makers, many TV productions and even larger studios wanting cheap B-cameras. Now three and a half years on from the Mark II in March 2012, we have the Mark III, arguably one of the most highly-anticipated DSLRs for years.
